Growth Perspective™ | Spark Growth
See more clearly. Understand what growth requires. Decide what comes next.
What are we really trying to create, and what does it require?

What are we really trying to create, and what does it require?
Sometimes you know. Sometimes you are not sure which direction growth should take. Sometimes you see several possibilities. And sometimes you are confident you know what you want, until new perspective shows you something you could not see before.
This is where Spark Growth begins.
You may be uncertain. You may see several possible directions. Or you may be completely confident in the future you have defined.
Growth Perspective™ does not assume the first answer is the final answer.
Through participation, inquiry, evidence, new perspectives, and the Seven Domains of Growth Scaffolding™, the field of view expands. Assumptions are challenged. Connections become visible. Possibilities emerge. Constraints become clearer. Goals and objectives are refined.
And sometimes the future itself changes.
That is not drift. That is the work of Perspective.
See → Question → Learn → Reframe → Connect → Choose → Act differently
This is the experiential logic of Growth Perspective. It complements the formal six-stage methodology and decision logic.
It changes the people doing the work.
The process asks leaders and participants to examine what they believe; encounter evidence that may support or challenge those beliefs; hear perspectives that do not normally enter the decision; connect ideas across functions, organizations, sectors, technologies, and relationships; and decide what now deserves attention.
Clients are not waiting for Spark Growth to disappear into a room, conduct an analysis, and return with the answer. They are part of developing the Perspective.
A changed perspective has consequences.
When people see differently, they begin to ask different questions. When they ask different questions, they gather different evidence. When they understand the situation differently, they make different choices. Different choices change where attention, resources, relationships, and capability are directed.
And those changes begin altering the conditions around growth.

SIX STAGES THAT PROGRESSIVELY BUILD UNDERSTANDING, ALIGNMENT, AND DIRECTION
Growth Perspective™ does not assume that the future described on day one is necessarily the future that should be pursued.
The initial desired future gives the work an orientation point. But Perspective must leave room for learning. You may discover that the opportunity is larger, smaller, different, premature, more connected, or more consequential than you thought.
You may discover that a capability you thought you needed already exists somewhere else; that a constraint considered fixed can be changed; that a technology problem is actually a participation problem; or that the future you originally described no longer reflects what you now understand to be possible.
Perspective can refine the path and the destination.
Expands what leaders can see, understand, and believe is possible.
Experience → Action → Sensemaking
Strengthens the conditions and capabilities required to move toward the desired future.
Operating System → Capability → Adaptive Conditions
Supports complex change as it is built, learned, adapted, adopted, and increasingly carried forward by the organization itself.
Transformation → Iteration → Transfer

What can you really do? You can change the world! That may sound scary, but it starts by showing up, taking action, making your voice heard.
At Spark Growth – we start by showing up. It’s funny how much success in life comes simply by showing up. If you don’t show up, you don’t get to play.
We take action. Thinking big doesn’t mean you have to start big – by starting small and building trust, you can do bigger things. You may have heard the old adage, “How do you eat an elephant?” And the answer is, “One bite at a time.”

We participate in the conversation. This is the conversation of collaboration, asking “What Could We Do Together?”
By thinking big, you can reach for your ultimate. Your Massive Transformative Purpose is the higher, aspirational purpose of your organization. With your MTP big enough to rally around, it inspires and it moves people and hearts. Start small, build trust by doing little things, and move forward toward BIG!
A Massive Transformative Purpose (MTP) is the higher, aspirational purpose of the organization, capturing the hearts and minds of those both inside and (especially) outside of the organization. (Don’t miss this video about MTP)
